Beginning her career in the industry at the age of 22, Pruett spent approximately 19 years in a traditional salon setting. After relocating to both Houston and Austin Texas in 2007, Pruett developed a special interest in working with women in need of alternative hair, whether for medical or esthetical reasons. Pruett changed career paths by joining Parker Serenity Wig and Salon in Austin, Texas where she was trained by extremely well-seasoned professionals who have been serving the Alternative Hair community for over 60 years. Quickly becoming renowned for her expertise, Pruett eventually chose to go into business by establishing A Beautiful You in 2018, upon her return to New Hampshire.
In October of 2019, January of 2020, and in May of 2022, Pruett was featured in New Hampshire Women's Magazine, and was featured on her first cover issue in October of 2021. Pruett was also a guest speaker on Nashua, New Hampshire's WSMN 95.3 FM, Wicked Healthy Radio. Due to her overwhelming success in both the industry and in her community, Pruett is currently establishing A Beautiful You Foundation as a way of giving back, in honor of a client who has passed away.
Pruett received a bachelor's degree in business from Pensacola State College in 1994. She subsequently graduated from the Concord Academy of Hair Design in 1996. Adding to her credentials, Pruett is a certified colorist, extentionist, and Alternative Hair Expert.
